Dear Fuksi,
Welcome!
A fuksi is a first year student at a university. Every single student here has been a fuksi at one point who has had to take in a large amount of information related to studying and student life. Some of them are working as tutors or are otherwise active in the guild, helping you have a pink start as a fuksi of the Mechanical Engineering Guild.
The student life in Aalto is very active and there is a lot to do. Whether you’re interested in dancing or sailing, you can find a club related to that activity. The guild and other student organisations also have a lot of events to make new friends in and to have a good time. The student life can take a lot of time so don’t forget your studies!
The fuksi year will culminate in the possiple Wappu, if the International Director so decides. Then those fuksis who have shown themselves deserving of the title of teekkari shall put on their teekkari caps for the very first time. You can earn this title by completing your cap degree with enough points and by acting according to the guilds code of conduct during events. You can find where to get points in the fuksi pass that you will get during the orientation week. If you lose yours be in contact with your masters captain immediately!

Communications
To give your fuksiyear or echange the best start possible, we recommend you join all the Telegram groupchats! Telegram is the main communication channel for students and guilds in Aalto. We will send updated info to these groupchats for example about the head start organized before orientationweek! If you are coming to finland early we hope you add the head start happening on 15.8.2026 to your calendar!
You will get closer to autumn the Survival Guide in your Email, and it will also be published on this website! The Survival Guide is an essential guide collecting almost all the info you will need to get a smooth start to your studies, so we recommend you read it through before orientationweek!
