E-mail is the most official way to communicate. Every new student gets an Aalto user ID. This ID will be used when logging in to aalto-mail. The e-mail address is usually
. We will collect your e-mails with a contact information form during the first day of school. The contact information will not be put into any public distribution, it is only for our, your freshmen captains’, use. We need the information so that we can get into contact with you. After we have collected your e-mails, we will create an e-mailing list for you. We will send the captain mail to you using that e-mailing list. The captain mail is our most important way to stay in contact with you. You should follow the captain mail closely because we compile all the important and current information about different events and the freshmen card tasks.
The Guild of Mechanical Engineers has a few general information channels in addition to the information channels targeted to freshmen. After you have paid the guild’s membership fee, you will get the weekly newsletter in your e-mail. It compiles all the bulletins about the upcoming events and the opportunities of the guild, AYY and Aalto University.
In addition to the weekly newsletter, you can find news about the guild’s events from the guild’s website koneinsinoorikilta.fi. You can also find other important information related to freshmen, studies, the guild’s board and all kinds of other stuff on the website. It is worth it to get to know the website even before school starts!
